DIY Picnic Lunch with a Tutorial

Hello again!

I told you that for my birthday I went to Berkeley Springs, WV to the natural hot springs that George Washington frequented, and since I am such a foodie I wanted to make picnic lunches for my guests. It turned out to be a beautiful day and since the hot springs are on a (very small) natural park it was the perfect setting for our picnic.

Instead of buying individual bags of chips for everyone I made my own using brown paper bags and some paint.

I totally forgot to take a picture of the finished product until after everyone had eaten and we were getting everything packed up to go back home when I realized that I didn't take any pics of it- hence the gravel haha.

For this very easy project I used:
  • brown paper bags
  • paint pen/ puffy paint
  • scissors
  • tape
  • napping baby optional

I had the white paint pen but couldn't get it to work on the brown paper bags. Not sure if my pen is running low or it just didn't want to work so I switched to puffy paint and that worked great. (And it happens to be fabric paint, but as long as it worked that's what counts right?)

I cut the paper bags about halfway down and cut the bottom flap off. I then folded about 1/2in backwards and taped it to create the bottom seam. Super super easy. A little paint for the label and that's it. If I had stamps or cute little stickers I would've used that, but I don't and ya'll know I use what I have.

Our picnic lunches, made by yours truly, consisted of Strawberry Chicken Salad on Whole Wheat Wrap, Fresh Grapes, my Homemade Chocolate Tea Bark, and Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. Yum! I found the bamboo knot skewers on Amazon.

What do you think? Do you like making lunches as much as I do?
