Today we went to get Galen's circumcision. Dun. Dun. Dunnnn.
From something that is a fairly simple procedure when a boy is born, it was quite a production today. It's a really frustrating story why it wasn't done in the hospital, so I won't get into that, but the end of the story is that Galen had to go to DC to see a general surgeon to get his circumcision done.
It involved anesthesia, a hospital gown, a breathing tube, a baby (epidural), a ring of stitches, and a little bit of stress for mommy, but everything turned out okay. As far as surgeries go, it is one of the simplest of procedures, but it was still more than I would've liked.
Galen was a trooper though! He wasn't allowed to have food for like 8 hours, but he didn't even get fussy. He was amazing and so giggly while we were waiting for the surgeon. Afterwards he was a little groggy but just wanted to eat and be held and listen to me sing to him! We were in and out in a surgical jiffy.
Unfortunately neither Daddy or Papaw got to come with us so it was Galen, me, and grandma.
